Hahaha, not sure how I am getting checked out, mostly through google it seems, but anyway thats interesting, I should probably write in a more crafted way! Nah...
Back to work! Research has begun for the Manifesto assignment, which im excited about. It has been somewhat put on the backburner this week as I have a presentation this morning for my other paper (of which the blog is through Blackboard, ddummmmmbb).
I know I want to produce a kind of 'How To' guide for designers, but I have no specifics yet, and how I am going to be critical etc.
I have started looking at Manifestos.....and I thought until I find something I really think resonates with me I am going to focus mostly on post millenium things as there are MILLIIOONNSS and design practice and teaching etc has changed a lot since 2000, so it will help to limit.
I really like the Productivity Manifesto by Nathan Barry. So right. It's so hard to concentrate on creating when you are constantly distracted checking FB etc. His rule - "Create and Consume on Different Devices" is great.
OOHH this is perfect for me: I am the most indecisive person EVER and options keep me awake at night!
"Decision Paralysis"
Should you build that product or pursue a specific venture, or go for a run? The decision doesnt matter. Its the waste of time thinking about all the different options.
FLIP a COIN! Why? Cause when the coin is in the air you will know which option you want it to land on. Good Job Nathan Barry.
A good website I found has 11 Manifestos you must read, which hopefully will uncover which ones I really like etc.
Already from this course I know I like Chochinov's Sustainability one....
