Yesterday I went out with my camera and wandered the streets as a flaneur. I'm not really sure whether I got further insight into what I need for this project, or into myself, but it was an interesting experience.
I found out that what I really like to take images of are people, but I am so afraid of confrontation that I will try and do it on the sly, without looking through the lens, or pretending that I am photographing the view instead of the people. Most of my images because of this turned out crap, but that in itself is interesting I think. I have had a safe and largely uncomplicated privileged life, and I do not like putting myself in uncomfortable situations...
We'll see anyway...It will be interesting to hear what my tutor thinks by looking at my contact sheet next week!
