So over the weekend, apart from writing my 200 words and getting my storyboards together I have been thinking about construction of my experiment.
I want it to be strong, so wood comes to mind, but I also want it to look nice and not distract from the words (or images, I haven't fully decided yet even though the storyboard says words) so I thought I would spraypaint it black, and have it look the same all over.
I was going to use hinges to connect all the sides and then hopefully make it fold in on itself etc, but still be sturdy when it's open and in use. Problem is hinges at Bunning's did not come in black and all the colours they did come in weren't very aesthetically pleasing. So I will continue to try and think how I want this to work...
Hey
ReplyDeleteReally liked the storyboard, video would've been SOOOO MUUCH WOORK (but awesome) time to put the energy you wanted to put into that into construction and polish :)
You have shsown evidence and experiments of trying many different facets of your design and researched pretty thoroughly what goes into it. stop stressing over not meeting the brief, you are exploring the preconceptions people have about the sounds of everyday materials, to really focus on this in itself is pretty unique.
now what i really want to see is some more experiments on those objects to hit together and the construction of that board, by handin i'd like to be able to sell this in a shop it's going to be so well crafted.
