Alrighty! I has been along time since my last post! I wasnt sure we needed to continue to blog, but apparently we do so here I am!
Since my last post where I was humming and haaring over ideas, we had a tutorial to chat about our ideas and hopefully get them sorted. I delivered two ideas to class and everyone liked one of them better than the other.
Using all three tutors and getting them to graffiti on an exhibition was the strongest idea, but it has evolved since then.
So instead of all of them doing it, I have got 3 tutors and each of them experiencing rebellion in different ways.
One of them is going to do the tagging on the mock architecture exhibition, and another is also in on it and will distract sarah while it happens. Then I have a student who is going to alert Sarah to the fact someone has tagged and Sarah will feel Embodied by the rebellious act, feeling her own version of rebellious.
So trying to get all the details right at the moment. I have access to architecture poster work from my friend who is third year arch, and I can print them out large. I also have big long piece of paper to cover up the noticeboards that I have booked out. In trying to be more surprising I have booked an area of the atrium that isnt a part of the area that has been booked out for 231. Hopefully this will add more of a surprise for Sarah as she wont be expecting anything in that area.
So after organising the content of posters, and booking the area, I made some briefs to send to the two tutors who need to know what to do on the day. I am a little nervous that because it will be a crazy day, they will forget the instructions. But I plan on sending reminders on Wed so make sure.
I need to bring a red marker, my black hoody, and my camera on the day. I am planning on setting up as early as I can so all I have to do is do the experience and then capture some shots and I am done!
The briefs were sent to Kath and Meredith on Thursday (so a week out from the experience) and the tone was extremely briefing sounding, like a war / political briefing from a society (culture and context society) as much of the research is war / politics related and I thought this would be fitting.
I actually got the email address CultureandContextSociety@gmail.com, but for some reason it wouldn't let me get the email part working so the briefings were sent from my gmail account. I actually thought it might be better anyway as it might have looked like spam and bee deleted!
In terms of the essay, I am almost done! I half wrote it early last week and then had to start again, now I have about 100 words to go. It was hard finding suitable research for embodied rebellion, but after a lot of searching I found 2 really good articles which were perfect so I was happy then!
Getting nervous that it wont all come together how I want, but I'll just try and make sure all the details are sorted and it should be sweet!
