So over the weekend I did two of the explorations in the textbook and both were interesting. The first one I did was #14 Make a sound map. I sat in a public place for an hour and documented sounds I heard, what time it was, and where the sounds came from in relations to where I was.
I found that a lot of the sounds were the same, and a few were constant (music coming from cafe behind me) I started at 4pm which was I think an interesting time, as it was a beautiful day, and it was quite busy. As the sun disappeared behind the buildings, people were less and less frequent.
Heres a few pics of what my scribbles look like! I realised quite quickly that it would have to be time, and then a list of all the things, and I could draw a map when no new sounds presented themselves. There was a lot of repeats, which I included each time, but it did make things exciting for me when I had a new sound!
