Hatch Project

My Hatch project was I think my favourite part of the copy/tranform project. I really enjoy playing with different textures and movement using shape - this is why I had a vague idea of what I wanted to show before I started and have minimal sketches to go with my final.

My inspiration somewhat came from the slides in the Design 101 lecture 2 on March 12th (slide 28/64). I dont want to post it as I don't know about copying/referencing on that particular persons work! The main idea I got from it was to oppose the grid structure. I instantly wanted to play with the squares falling, and my draft turned out pretty good, with some good experimentation with hatch - many of which I used in my final. In each square I thought about the contrast of the shapes around it, and wanted to play with movement. Each square has a feel of movement or perspective about it.
