Four minutes left on my laptop battery

A quick update! I am all good for the last assignment I think. I just need to write and get used to what I am going to say so I sound confident. I think we only have 2 minutes as well, so I should maybe make sure I have everything I need to say in that 2 minutes, but could elaborate to 3minutes if we are allocated that instead...maybe I'll email Jodi...

ANyway, book is ready,  posters are ready. I have two, one to catch peoples attention and let them know exactly what my manifesto is about, and one which has the points on it, and I had to print them out A2 as the points writing wouldn't show up otherwise. Only lame thing is that we might not be able to have our posters and my business cards with our manifestations. I only really printed them to go together so I'll be gutted if they can't be on display together.

We'll see! Anyway! presentation practise for me tonight, after I do some video of my lungs and bubbles for my other project! ek! It really is almost over!

Explanations and Graphics

Alrighty, as per last post I'm going to explain the colours/shapes/graphic design element of my book.

So to start - the overall element of graphics, so the shapes and the colour scheme, and the font are all a reflection of my answer to the small talk question regarding what is Culture & Context.

At this point, my answer is that I want to use it towards a job in Graphic Design. So as apart of that, I wanted this manifestation to be a reflection of that, and to have a definite theme and colour scheme.

The title is a direct reflection of all of the colours chosen and begins the graphic representation of the shapes to show the reader it will all follow that kind of graphic area. In terms of the specific points, some of the graphics are a little abstract to represent the ideas, however I'll explain them...
The below is not a point, but is the starting point for where the manifesto came from. The image is a bit of a reflection of the title in that respect with the pentagon etc.

Everything that has a colour and gradient (of which there are about 5 or so below) the lack of shapes was a specific choice in that I did not want to distract from the words.
Follow the process - the shapes at the bottom of this page represent a line graph of sorts, and is a bit of a reflection that when you follow the process there is many up's and downs!
Everything comes from somewhere, this one is a little obvious, but the arrow are representing all and any ideas or skills etc, and showing that many many things come from a variety of sources, however when you use/make them they all come together to help you progress.
Literally not gods, so I have a representation of the clouds and sky.
The above is representing a factory belt of a factory as a visual representation of  consumerism.
Social design and the shapes are little houses all of a variety of shapes, colours and sizes to remind me of the many different people out there and how we have the potential to improve their lives with our designs.
Sustain vs Ability - the big V is a representation of the one company that has taking it upon themselves to be highly sustainable etc, whereas all the others are showing that generally most companies will go for low cost and efficiency, as per the point.
Obviously, the Minority vs Majority has been mixed up in this graphic which is on purpose and done to visually represent that the focus is on the majority, however the minority is much larger and in more need for necessities.

No shapes for a reason, I didnt want to disrupt the words, and it is about writing and words so I didnt want to put any graphics on there.
The arrows are a representation of different people looking at the font and judging it, haha.
This shape is a representation of the start versus once you start. AND the other way. SO it can work both, it can be a representation of when you begin and you are finding it really difficult, and then once you start it all flows and a mountain of ideas comes your way, which is why the shape gets bigger.
But it can also be the ideas you have working backwards, which is before you start you have heaps of ideas and options and then once you get stuck in and start those ideas are limited and finalised down.
Quite literally a representation of the C in confidence, big and out there, but still using shapes.
This one relates to all the little peices that are working inside our world, and that our designs can effect lots of people in that. SO it is trying to show many people who are affected by designs.
Blank on purpose, gradient as its works aesthetically with the rest of the graphic design, and it doesnt distract from the point. The point is simple and unexplained, and I wanted the background to follow that.
Love = heart = this one is literal!
The little triangles are a reflection on all of the things culture and context can be.
Again these last couple all without shapes as the ideas are super important to get across, and I wanted the text to be of most importance.

Filler page that fits the graphic element.
Back page to close of the book and as a reflection however different of both the title and the do what you love page in the book.

The above is poster one of two that I will be putting up in the presentation. It will make it obvious to passers-by what exactly my manifesto is about, and it also sets the scene for the graphics and colour scheme. The below poster is A2 also and will make it easier to present, as my book might make me have less options when I am presenting to show people what I did. Also having this poster means people can just look at these instead of opening the book.

The below are my business cards. I am having a few variations and I will maybe put some up on the wall if I have space, but mainly they are people to take away and they have both my conclusion of CCDN and also one that shows them the small talk answer, which they can fill in.
And that's me! I am stoked I have gotten onto things so early and am done mostly. I need to do some last minute researching and then prepare for the presentation, but otherwise I'm ready!

NOOooww on to my other paper which now needs my focus!

Manifestation hand-in

AWESOME, handing in the manfestation part of this project feels great. It means we only have a week to go with this paper!!

So I need to do 2x posters, and print business cards this week, which should be all good. Then I need to Research a bit more for answers to any questions people might ask about the points.

Then I need to really plan my presentation to make sure its going to be under 2 minutes (which is crazy!)

Tomorrow I will update my blog with the final images of the manifestation, and also just talk a bit about the decisions I made and why.  We have no internet at home for another 2 weeks, so the days have been really busy and adding stuff to blogs has definitely fallen!

Heres the images of my book...

PRINTING

Gooosshh having no internet at home at the moment is sooo hard!

So I am getting my book printed today. I haven't heard Jodi's thoughts yet on structure so I really hope she has no changes cause I need to go and order it now.  nervous! It was one of those things where I started really early and felt like I was on top of it but its all came up really fast. Now I need to print today, so I can pick it up tomorrow and get it cheaply perfect bound (the material version) tomorrow ready for hand-in Wednesday.  Factoring in work and money also needs to happen!

So off to the printer now! Then to trial lasercutting for my other paper project and im nervous I haven't done it right....EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK too much this week with tomorrow presentation for design+ and then manifestation wed. I always think im organised and then it speeds up!

Almost there, two more projects and Im DONE! EK!

Then I'll have to read my book to help with my answer to the what do I do question ;-)
